RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

The other day I was driving along and caught this MB Cruiser in the corner of my eye.
It is a nice looking unit. (From MA too.)

I hadn't seen one of these before. It seems to have quite a storage locker in the back. It that for the spare tire, etc?

RE: Any Way to Clean Fiamma Awning End Caps?

Someone posted here on the CVC forum a long time ago:
Use equal parts bleach and water (half a cup of bleach and half cup water mixed) and continuously wipe the end cap. You'd be amazed with the results. It just needs a little bit of elbow grease. :B

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

Uh, oh! sergeant76 is getting too good at this. I shouldn't have showed him how to post pictures on RV.net! Nice Job sergeant76 with the description of the encounter too.
Yesterday I was at the "Jazz Fest" at the harbor in Falmouth on Cape Cod with our RT while my DW watched the fine jazz musicians all day and evening. I had an enjoyable time in our RT just relaxing. The weather was spectacular.
A Coachmen Ford B from MA drove in and parked a few spaces down from me.
I didn't get to talk to the owner of the B.

RE: Florida room for Roadtrek

I took a hard look at getting a Flamma Florida room and decided that I was not going to be "camping" so much as "touring" with our B. It is a bit pricey and difficult to set up and take down IMO. I like simplicity.
We ended up getting the Playhut EZ Twist Screen Room. It fits under the awning and can be set up and folded within 5 minutes and takes very little storage room. See my posting about this on another thread a while back.
Here is an updated link to where you can get it.

Thanks for the post.
We are going by there in the near future and it is beneficial to have this info. :)
I will keep an eye out for the scam.

RE: MacBook Pro as a tv while camping

This might be the solution.
I don't have Eye TV but a few people I have spoken to praise it highly.
I am thinking of getting it myself instead of a replacement flatscreen HDTV for my rig. I have a 17" flatscreen but it is not HD capable (that I know of).
I did get a converter box (with the government rebate) in case I decide not to go this route.

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

I was driving by the local mall yesterday and found this RT 190 Popular older Dodge chassis from Maryland. A nice couple got out and went "shopping."
Can anybody guess what year this Dodge is?

RE: Update on the permanent bath in the Roadtrek 190.

Thank you Rodger.
I will take an awful lot to get me away from the aisle shower design. I think it makes the best sense of them all. The best of both worlds.
Having the storage and the large bathroom area is best for me. Having more options is a good thing (as you mentioned). One design isn't for everyone for sure.

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

Driving on I-495 north from Buzzards Bay today I spotted a Coach House B on the older Dodge Chassis. Does Coach House still make "real" class B's?

RE: Hold on to your seats!

We usually don't have occupants in the 2nd row seats. There are 2 of us in the household now. (Daughter is out of college now in the work force.) So, we don't leave the non-slip material on the seats. We plan to cover the seats when we have "extra" passengers. I thought about a adding a handle to "hold onto" but I think it is not not necessary. Another added benefit we found is the non-slip material is useful as a covering, when using the seats as a "place to put our feet up" after a long drive, (with the front captain chairs facing the rear of the RT. )
We have an armoire for the driver's side to easily replace the seat when we go on long trips. I keep it in storage in my basement when not in use. We are thinking about adding a second one for the passenger's side as well.

RE: Hold on to your seats!

ennajean asked:
"Wonder if the non slip stuff would harm the leather? "
I don't think it will harm the leather. I will keep a watch on it though.
CA POPPY asked:
"Is there no seatbelt? I am disappointed that some of the new B models do not even have fabric seats as an option. Glad you have a resourceful DW. "
Oh, there is a seatlbelt. And, it works, But, the turn I took was not enough to "lock" in the shoulder strap of the seatbelt. It's the shape of the seat that kinda pulls you down "legs first" first to the floor. I think most people wouldn't have a problem sitting in the 2nd row seats. Some people do because they are less able to compensate to movement of the vehicle and need something to hold on to.
sergeant76 wrote:
"Good idea for the seats.
Bet that clamboil was good, hope you had Chourico and Linguica in it.
You made Rose and I hungry for one, maybe next week-end we will have a clamboil, by the way did you park in the same spot?"
Oh, don't worry, we had the works with the Linguica, butter and all. Good thing I don't eat this everyday! It was heaven!
We parked near the same spot and ate at the picnic table there. A guy in a large pickup was in the coveted spot who was very interested in our RT. Has has a 5'ver and is looking for a buyer so he can buy a class B or C.

Hold on to your seats!

We made an interesting discovery yesterday.
Around dinner time, we brought along another couple to the Cape Cod Canal for a picnic like setting. It was a beautiful day and the sunset was superb. We enjoyed lobster dinners with steamers and the works. (A clam boil). It was perfect! :B
But on the way, I took a rather quick turn and one passenger in the 2nd row seat behind the driver's side was having great difficulty holding on.
The seat is made of leather and can be slippery. It is of different shape and design than the front captains chairs and seems to be easier to slip around.
So, my DW quickly ran to the sink galley area of our B and grabbed one of those rubber sheets that is designed to prevent objects from slipping off counters, etc; She put it on the seat for our special passenger. It worked perfectly!
See pic below:
http://www.allcapemusic.org/images/walmartrt/seat.jpg
Has anyone here had a similar experience and used this material for this purpose? Or perhaps sharing other great ideas using materials for uses other than originally intended?

Here is a Westy on Main Street in our local town.
The B is from New York state. We came very close to buying one of these way back when... :B

RE: I need side view pics of B's for the B Out West social logo

Here are some links.
Rodger's website Photos
Roadtrek website wallpaper
Maybe you can do some "cutting" of these RT's.
I tried to find some side photos of just the B - no background. They seem to be hard to find now. Below is my signature photo. You can download that or anybody's signature pic that has a side B. (Just drag the pic to your desktop - esp. if you have a Mac or right click and save target as (or similar)).

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

You could have gotten away with guessing that this is a Chevy if you had just included the 1st photo, but this second photo makes it a Dodge. I bought a new '73 Dodge Maxivan that had the exact same grill. For those interested in trivia...
Oops! You are right!
Every time I tried to get a close up picture of that van, the owner would come out and give me a real stern look. I never got to take a good look at the front of that B then or even when I posted it. I think this is a rare find. I think the owner should be commended for continuing to use it. Thanks for the correction. :o

RE: Post Your 'B' Sightings Here

Last weekend, we went to Scussett Beach in Sagamore MA and saw an old Chevy B. It looks like a 70's or early 80's model? We didn't get to talk to the owners but it looked like they stayed there for the night before.
http://www.allcapemusic.org/images/walmartrt/redvan.jpg
They moved to another spot near the campground area of the reservation.

Below is a pic my DW took of a RT190 with her iPhone at the local CVS today. I was surprised because she thinks I go overboard in taking pics of B's :B
